The 100th birth centenary of late Maharani Gayatri Devi was being planned by her grandson, Maharaj Devraj Singh, and granddaughter, Rajkumari Lalitya Kumari with passion and royal flair. There were different activities from 23 May, the birthday of Rajmata Gayatri Devi to start off the commemorations. Maharani Gayatri Devi’s bond and love for Jaipurites is deep in our hearts, she had dedicated her life for the development and betterment of the city and its people. She had stated throughout her life that she would like to see the pink city prosper and see people making sacrifices to make the city flourish. Beauty and cleanliness are what she expected Jaipur to symbolize. This was informed by Maharaj Devraj Singh, the grandson of Maharani Gayatri Devi at a media briefing program in Jaipur.

The commemorations were held at the spiritual landmark Govind Dev Ji temple in the heart the pink city, with the people paying tribute through prayers and bhajans on her birth centenary. A 7 day long photo exhibition entitled - ‘A Journey to the Hearts of People’. This was informed by daughter-in-law of late Rajmata Gayarti Devi, Princess Priyanandana Rangsit.

Following these series of events an award ceremony has been organized in which Maharani Gayatri Devi Charitable Trust would honour and foster her vision of the city for the first time to champion a person or organization that has enriched Jaipur environmentally or socially. The award was also given to a person or organization which has innovated new environmental friendly projects to clean up the city and improve the lives of Jaipurites. A theatrical musical act on the life of Rajmata sahib was also being planned to relive her memories. Also a fashion tribute was being made to Rajmata Gayatri Devi in the renowned place Jai Mahal Palace.
